I AM WOMAN

The conflict in northern Mozambique, which has been ongoing since 2017, has so far displaced 700,000 people to surrounding areas such as Cabo Delgado. The Cabo Delgado region has an extremely high level of food insecurity. Water, sanitation and hygiene are sometimes a big problem. Internally displaced women are particularly vulnerable. That is why we at Hilfswerk International empower women in Mozambique: We improve the health conditions of women in Cabo Delgado, with a focus on pregnant and breastfeeding women, mothers and their children.

Our activities combine urgently needed emergency aid with the promotion of medium-term development and building resilience for the women in Cabo Delgado:

• We distribute food packages to pregnant women, mothers, and their children
• The creation of seed banks empowers women in the long term
• Construction of sanitary facilities in health centers
• We promote business initiatives by women in Cabo Delgado

Together we can help women in Mozambique to a good and hopeful future. By believing in them and giving them opportunities to develop.
